More About Mountain Moon
Pam Roberts and Dhruva’ Stephenson have performed together for many years, beginning in Braxton County, WV, where they were both local teachers. Both Dhruva’ and Pam perform and record original music and play a variety of instruments, from strings to woodwinds and percussion with occasional surprises thrown in. Their sound is an acoustic mélange of musical styles, with a base of folk and blues, flavored by jazz and swing with touches of country and world music for spice. Dhruva’ also performs with the FSU Chamber Singers, Greg Latta, the Waynesburg University GNP Band and as a soloist, including online in virtual worlds. Pam performs as a soloist and in ensembles such as the Elktones, Blues Fuze and Bickel Snob. Both have released CDs featuring original music: “Where the Heart Lands” (Pam) and, most recently, “Wild in the Woodlands” (Dhruva’).

Virtual Performances
For several years, I have been performing online in virtual worlds such as Second Life. There are about 40,000 users online at any point in time, from all over the world. People interact in real time using an animated avatar of their choosing--human, animal, fantasty character--whatever they want to look like. But the conversation (mostly text chat) and the streaming of live music happens between real people in real time. In addition to Second Life, I have also performed in Third Rock Grid, Metropolis Metaversum and Inworldz. Here's a video about a different musician and his Second Life music performances. Second Life musicians even meet up occasionally in the "real world." We also get together in real life meetup called "Live jams." Are you confused enough now? Contact me if you'd like to know more!

FSU Chamber Choir
I have had the honor and pleasure of singing with the FSU Chamber Choir for a number of years now, under the direction of Dr. Karen Soderberg-Sarnaker, Dr. James Reddan and Dr. Scott Rieker. I was lucky enough to be able to travel to both China in 2008 and Italy in 2015 on choir tours--both experiences which deeply enriched my life. The China choir tour in 2008 was the impetus that began the "China connection" for me which I have followed up with two sabbaticals spent at Chinese universities and several other trips. Elsewhere on this website you can find news about my studies of Chinese music and bilingual music videos, if you are interested in learning more.
